Quarterly facts

For April–June 2026, Microsoft reported revenue of US$90.007 billion, operating cash flow of US$55.441 billion and property-and-equipment cash spending of US$35.802 billion. The last two imply a US$19.639 billion difference. Results were published July 29, 2026.

The reading

Operating cash is not revenue billed. Expanding technology infrastructure requires attention to the capital needed to serve demand and when it can produce incremental cash. Investment can reflect profitable expansion, advance capacity or capacity that takes longer to fill.

The next signal

At the next quarterly results, compare equivalent periods, demand, margins, lease commitments and capacity use. Strong revenue without sufficient cash improvement would warrant a closer examination of expected returns.
